James Kilgore, the last fugitive member of the Symbionese Liberation Army, spent six years in prison for murder during an April 1975 bank robbery. He teaches at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his newest book is called Understanding Mass Incarceration: A People’s Guide to the Key Civil Rights Struggle of Our Time. James joins David to discuss the many problems with the mass incarceration status quo in the US.
